Developer, Asset Creator or are you a bit of both?:

I’m mainly an audio asset creator and sound designer focused on creating sound effects for indie games.

Over the years I’ve worked closely with game developers and game engines, so I also understand the development side and implementation process quite well.

So I’d say I’m primarily an asset creator, but also a bit of both.

Full Time, Part Time or Hobby?:

I work full-time as a sound designer at a game company.

In my free time, I create audio asset packs and sound libraries for indie game developers. Creating sound effects is both my profession and my passion.

How long have you been doing this?:

I’ve been in the game audio industry since 2019.

The first couple of years were mostly a learning and apprenticeship period for me, but I’ve been actively working in the industry professionally for the last 4 years.

Honestly, one of the few positive things the pandemic brought into my life was giving me the time and opportunity to fully focus on sound design and improve my skills.

What made you become a dev/artist?:

I’ve been playing games for as long as I can remember, and at some point I started asking myself: “Why am I only playing games instead of creating something for them myself?”

That question is what brought me into this industry.

I found my place in the world of audio and sound design, which was already something I was passionate about, and I feel very lucky because of that. Being able to become part of games through sound effects is an amazing feeling.

Honestly, if we hadn’t all had so much unexpected free time during the pandemic, I might not be doing this professionally today.

Favourite software/tools to use?:

For creating sound effects, I mainly use Reaper. It’s an incredible DAW - honestly an endless rabbit hole when it comes to creativity and workflow possibilities. There’s almost no limit to what you can do with it once you fully learn the software.

For audio implementation, I use FMOD. It’s one of the tools that makes the whole integration process much easier and more flexible for game audio.

And of course, audio plugins are a huge part of my workflow as well. There are endless possibilities when it comes to shaping and designing unique sounds.

What’s one tip you would give to someone starting out?:

Never give up or quit too early.

Listen to other people’s opinions, meet people from the industry, and don’t be afraid to start conversations. The sound design community is full of incredibly talented people who also have very little ego. Many of them genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others grow, which is honestly something you don’t see very often in other industries.

Keep creating constantly and don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are part of the learning process. Pay attention to feedback and always focus on improving yourself.

And never underestimate the “40-day rule.” If you practice or study something consistently for 40 days without stopping, by the end of it you’ll definitely reach a new level in that skill.

How do you promote your work (games or assets)?:

I usually promote my work through my social media accounts, especially LinkedIn.

If I create a special or unique sound pack that I really believe in, I also think it’s important to set aside a small advertising budget to help it reach more developers and potential customers.

Consistent sharing and visibility over time make a big difference in this industry.

What project are you working on now?

At the moment, I’m not actively working on a public game project.

There is one project I’m currently involved with and waiting to be completed, but I think it’s better not to share the name at this stage yet.

Any completed projects/work you want to promote?

Some of the games I’ve worked on within the last year include:

I’ve also provided smaller audio support and sound design contributions for various indie game projects along the way.

And finally, favourite game ever & why?:

Definitely World of Warcraft.

Its world, atmosphere, music, environmental audio, and storytelling all feel incredibly immersive to me. It’s more than just a game — it feels like a second home in many ways.

It’s a game I genuinely enjoy both playing and taking inspiration from as a sound designer.
